Kiev is the capital of Ukraine. It is a dense city (it extends over 30 km radius for two and a half million inhabitants). Kiev is a particularly ancient city steeped in history, incessant invasions and Orthodox traditions. Religious heritage is undoubtedly the most interesting to discover the richest and aesthetically element churches and the Monastery of the Catacombs (Pechersk Lavra) are the priority tourist sites.

Kiev is also a nice city: full of parks that dot the Dnieper, the huge river that runs through the whole of Ukraine, it has many green spaces that encourage walking. In summer, many banks turn into beaches. An island has also been converted into a huge amusement park, the Hydropark. Overlooking the river, the "steel lady" high statue of sixty meters, easily attracts the eye of the visitor. It overlooks the Museum of the War of 1941-1945, which is located near the Monastery of the Catacombs.

Kiev is nice between May and September. Christmas time is also recommended. March is the month to avoid because of the thaw and slush overflowing sidewalks. If you stay more than three days, you can take the opportunity to go to the south of the city and visit the open air museum Pirogovo to discover the different rural traditions of Ukraine.

Moreover, Ukraine tourism organizes tours all summer to allow you to visit the city in good condition accompanied by a French guide.
